Finding My Place: A Year 7 Student's Journey
When Tom* started Year 7, the thought of navigating high school social dynamics felt overwhelming. With a history of challenging social experiences in primary school, both Tom and his parents were concerned about the transition.

This session will take your new high school through the steps to make friends in high school using evidence-based procedures. They will learn how to start a conversation with a new person, how to enter group conversations, how to find a source of friends with common interests, and what makes a good choice in high school friends.

This session will take your new highschool through the steps to manage bullying, as well as how to minimise rumours and gossip. We will also go through digital etiquette so that they manage the digital world in a safe and responsible manner.
Date: April 9 and 10, 2025
Time: 10am-12pm each day

This is for enrolment in both sessions of the ‘Finding Your Tribe in High School’ program. A total of 4 hours of high school-related social skills to prepare your soon-to-be highschooler with the steps to navigate a new social world.
