PEERS Social Skills training. One-on-one. Online
Hi, I’m Julie Athanasiou — a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, Social Skills Coach, and Director of Strivesocial Pty Ltd.
I support neurodivergent young people, teens, and families to build meaningful social communication, confidence, independence, and connection in everyday life. My work is grounded in a strengths-based, practical approach that respects each young person’s individuality while helping them develop skills that genuinely transfer into real-world settings.
With a background in speech pathology and specialised experience supporting autistic young people and others with ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, and social communication challenges, I offer services that are warm, structured, and tailored to each person’s goals. I am also a PEERS® Certified Provider, which allows me to deliver evidence-informed social skills support using approaches that are clear, practical, and relevant for adolescents and young adults.
I am currently studying a Diploma of Community Services, which further strengthens my understanding of person-centred support, community participation, and the broader systems that help young people and families thrive.
At Strivesocial Pty Ltd, we provide support that is both therapeutic and functional, with a strong focus on helping young people participate more confidently at home, at school, in the community, and in relationships. Services may include social communication support, social skills coaching, community participation, school holiday programs, Minecraft-based social groups, and parent-informed goal setting.
We are also a registered NDIS provider, which means families and support coordinators can feel confident that services are delivered with professionalism, accountability, and a clear understanding of NDIS processes and participant goals.
For Parents
If you are looking for support that is compassionate, practical, and tailored to your child’s stage of development, I aim to create a space where young people feel understood, respected, and capable. I know that families want more than generic advice — they want support that leads to real progress in friendships, communication, confidence, and everyday participation.
For NDIS Support Coordinators
I understand the importance of responsive communication, clear documentation, and services that align with participant goals and funding categories. I work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, educators, and allied health professionals to provide meaningful, goal-focused support for neurodivergent youth. My aim is to make referrals easy, provide a positive experience for participants, and deliver services that create measurable value.
My Approach
My work combines professional knowledge, practical teaching, and genuine care. I use structured, engaging methods that are age-appropriate and respectful, helping young people build skills in a way that feels relevant rather than clinical or overwhelming.
Whether I’m supporting a young person through social communication goals, helping families navigate next steps, or collaborating with a support team, my focus is always the same: helping young people feel more connected, capable, and confident in their world.
If you’d like to learn more about working together through Strivesocial, I’d love to connect.
