Minecraft Social Skills Group Program
Minecraft Social Skills Group (Ages 8–14)
Starts 21 March | 10-Week Program | Online across Australia
Is your child great at Minecraft but struggling with friendships?
Our Minecraft Social Group is a fun, structured program where kids practise real social skills — communication, teamwork, and friendship — through guided gameplay with trained facilitators.
Why Minecraft?
Minecraft gives kids a shared focus and a natural reason to talk, plan, negotiate, and problem-solve together. We use that moment-by-moment interaction to coach the skills that matter for school, home, and friendships.
What's included
10-week block with a new social topic each week
Up to 6 participants per group — plenty of individual support
Two trained facilitators guiding every session
1.5-hour sessions (weekends)
Evidence-informed — activities are based on UCLA PEERS® and structured social learning approaches
Weekly topics
Starting conversations
Turn-taking and sharing control
Teamwork and planning
Managing frustration
Conflict resolution
Friendship skills (inviting others, keeping the group positive)
Communication in a group, reading the room, humour, coping with mistakes, and repairing misunderstandings
Topics may be adjusted to the group's needs.
Who is it for?
This program is designed for neurodivergent children aged 8–14 who want help with friendships, teamwork, and confidence — without pressure to 'perform'. Suitable for kids with autism, ADHD, anxiety, or social communication differences.
NDIS funding accepted — sessions support capacity building, social participation, and confidence development.
Investment
$700 for the 10-week program (1.5-hour sessions)
NDIS participants: Sessions can be claimed under Capacity Building or Community Participation line items.
Program details
Start date: 21 March 2025, Saturday Mornings
Duration: 10 weeks
Session length: 1.5 hours
Group size: Maximum 6 participants
Delivery: Online (Australia-wide)
Note: Minecraft is used as a motivating learning environment. This program is not affiliated with Mojang/Microsoft.
