Strivesocial now has a dedicated Speech Pathology arm of the business, alongside our social skills and PEERS®-informed supports. This service is delivered by a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) and is designed for families who are looking for a broader range of speech pathology assessment and therapy—beyond social skills coaching alone.
Please note: this Speech Pathology service is delivered in partnership with Therapy Coalition, an NDIS-registered provider. This means it can be a great fit for NDIS participants, as well as private clients.
We offer a warm, strengths-based approach and support children, teenagers and young adults with areas such as speech sounds (articulation/phonology), language and literacy-related skills, functional communication, and social communication. Appointments are available face-to-face in outer east Melbourne or via telehealth Australia-wide.
Strivesocial Speech Pathology
Funding Speech Pathology Services
Strivesocial offers both speech pathology services and social skills programs, but these are provided through different business entities.
Speech Pathology Services
Strivesocial Speech Pathology provides individual speech pathology assessment and therapy services.
Strivesocial Speech Pathology is not an NDIS-registered provider. This means speech pathology services through this business are generally suitable for:
self-managed NDIS participants
plan-managed NDIS participants, where permitted
Medicare-funded clients
private health insurance clients
private-paying clients.
NDIS-Registered Social Skills Programs
Strivesocial’s NDIS-registered social skills programs are provided through a separate Strivesocial business entity with a different ABN.
These programs may include structured social communication and social skills supports delivered through Strivesocial’s NDIS-registered service.
Because the speech pathology service and the NDIS-registered social skills service operate under different ABNs, the funding and invoicing arrangements are also different.
Medicare
Some clients may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for eligible speech pathology sessions through a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan.
The session fee is paid in full to Strivesocial Speech Pathology first. You can then claim the Medicare rebate directly from Medicare.
The current Medicare rebate is approximately $63.40 per eligible session.
Strivesocial Speech Pathology does not currently have HICAPS or direct Medicare claiming, so:
You pay the full session fee.
We provide you with a paid receipt containing the required Medicare details.
You submit your claim through Medicare/myGov.
Medicare pays the rebate directly back to you.
Private Health Insurance
If your private health insurance includes speech pathology extras cover, you may be able to claim part of the cost of your speech pathology session.
The amount you can claim depends on your individual health fund and level of cover.
Strivesocial Speech Pathology does not currently process private health insurance claims through HICAPS, so you will need to pay for the session first and then claim directly through your health insurer.
NDIS Funding for Speech Pathology
Because Strivesocial Speech Pathology is not an NDIS-registered provider, NDIS funding arrangements will depend on how your plan is managed.
If your NDIS plan is self-managed or plan-managed, you may still be able to use your NDIS funding for eligible speech pathology services.
If your funding is NDIA-managed, you generally need to use an NDIS-registered provider.
Important
Medicare and private health insurance rebates apply to eligible speech pathology services only.
Strivesocial’s NDIS-registered social skills programs are provided through a separate business entity and are invoiced separately under a different ABN.
If you are unsure which service or funding option applies to you, please contact us and we can help explain the correct pathway.
