New Minecraft Social Group Starts 1 August (Ages 8–13)
If your child loves Minecraft but finds friendships and group chats tricky, you’re not alone. Many neurodivergent kids feel most confident when they’re doing something they enjoy — and Minecraft can be the perfect “shared interest” to practise real social skills in a low-pressure way.
That’s why we’re excited to open enrolments for our Minecraft Social Group, starting Saturday 1 August 2026. It’s a 10-week online program for ages 8–13, designed to help kids build friendships, practise communication, and strengthen teamwork — all while playing Minecraft.
Why Minecraft works for social skills
Minecraft naturally creates moments where kids need to:
Take turns and share control
Ask for help (and offer it)
Join in, include others, and negotiate roles
Handle disappointment and problem-solve when things don’t go to plan
Practise calm communication when emotions run high
When we pair those moments with clear coaching, kids aren’t just “playing together” — they’re learning skills they can use at school, at home, and in everyday friendships.
Our simple, evidence-based structure
Our sessions follow a clear three-step approach:
Play together in small groups online
Learn social tools with guidance from trained facilitators
Practise in real life (friendships, teamwork, problem solving)
We use the evidence-based PEERS® framework to teach practical, concrete strategies — and then we help kids practise them in a way that feels fun and motivating.
What parents are noticing
One of the best parts of running this program is hearing what families are seeing at home. Here’s feedback we received from a parent:
“Absolute game changer for our son. Luke and Allie are amazing. It’s the highlight of my son’s week and the learning being achieved is fantastic. My own son’s review of the program in his own words is, ‘It’s better than Christmas’. Thanks to Strivesocial Minecraft my son is making better choices and communicates more effectively.”
If you’ve been hoping for a program that supports real progress — without your child feeling like they’re in “therapy” — this is exactly what we aim for.
